studentfinance.ie has all the relevant info yo will need for "Back To Education Allowance"

or, call your local welfare office, and ask them for full details.

basically, you need to be on a social welfare payment for 9 months.

studentfinance.ie is actually the best website available for education finance information.

    http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp7594/check-your-eligibility/index.html

just click the link that applies to you, and it will give you what information you require.

Yep, you will - go to your local VEC for info. I'm disheartened by the amount of those who quote "the dole will pay for it". It's disgraceful how many are doing it for the money - taking the free ride - and doing nothing with their qualification afterwards. I wanted to take a career break to educate myself and I don't get one red cent to do that - and to think the amount of tax I've paid this government. It's difficult to comprehend the fairness of it all.

once youve been on da for more then 2 years you can apply for an exemption to study. ring the da section and ask to be put through to exemptions. talk to them about it, they'll let u know where you stand, or you could try to get btea. also afaik you cannot claim jobseekers while studying, if ur friend is on it and is caught he'll be in big trouble!!!!

When I was in College - there were no grants. If you wanted an education, you got a loan. It is so obviously the celtic tiger that filled us with greed. Now this country is screwed and their still paying out the biggest amounts of welfare in Europe!
