    Hi Guys,

i'm after seeing a flight for sale on donedeal and was just wondering has anyone ever bought a flight from a person before and then changed the details (name, date etc). The departure date is perfect but i might extend the return if possible. I called the girl selling it and she seemed genuine, but you never do know do you . Any ideas in ensuring this is completely legit before i part with my hard earned dosh....

I would want to meet her in person, and ask her to bring a passport confirming that she is the person who the flight is for.

She would also need to bring proof that she purchased the flight - a credit card, so you can both query the flight using the flight ref no and credit card no.

You can then ask her to change the details while you are there and give her the money.

    Cheers dilallio,
sounds like dead on advice. Think i'll call her back so and tell her the terms, thanks again :)

If it a Ryanair flight it would be cheaper to book a new one than change the name usually.

And this is based on ??

Contrary to popular belief some ryanair flights and destinations are actually expensive...

For the majority of flights they are cheap enough, however if you for example bought a flight with them for say €80 and then sold it to me for €60, the flight would cost me €160 as I'd have to pay the €100 name change fee, unless it was very last minute I would probably still get a new flight cheaper than that.

Just remember you will pay to change the name and pay to change the return date. This won't be cheap.
