Long hair or short hair?

I'm looking for to change my appreance and am thinking about getting my hair cut neat and short.

I've had rather long hair for quite a while and I'm starting to feel the hair is wearing me more than I am wearing the hair. Long hair does look good on me, but I have no idea how to style it or what to do with it... I wouldn't mind cutting it off, but I'd like to know that the hairstyle I'd be getting would suit me.

Could anyone recommend nice hairstyles and ideas? Or give me some advice on how I could change my hair?

All I really want is to be elegant :)

If you want to cut your long hair short, I have two suggestions.

I did that when I was 21, and I made a drastic cut, went from hair half way down my back to no more than 2 inches all over. It was shocking to say the least!! :)

So I would say, go to a good stylist who will sit with you and discuss the best options for the shape of your face and if your hair is very long maybe think about getting it to your desired length in a couple of sessions so to avoid that whole "who the hell is that in the mirror, oh wait that's me" thing that I went through. (I did that for a week!)

Having said that, having short hair is so handy but there is very little you can do with it.

    Hope that helps!

tie ur hair back completley off your face.. look into a mirror and draw around your face with lipstick.. this willl show u your face shape. then google eg.. hairstyles for triangle/round/oval/square/heartshaped etc face.. very short hair imo doesnt look great on chubby faces square faces or very angular faces. oh.. and if you have stick out ears dont cut it short lol!

Thank you both for your help!!

I'm still a little bit scared when it comes to cutting it all off, but at the same time I'd like to have a bit of a change :)
I reckon it will happen this summer, maybe not as short as I originally had planned (boyish short :) ) but well shorter :)

    Thanks again!!
