So after nearly a month of waiting for the inevitable news it turns out my 5D had irreparable damage due to moisture :( - still unsure where this moisture came from to be honest but alas the silver lining is it might be covered under my household insurance... not certain yet.

In any case I'm going to wait a while before buying a replacement, either wait for the insurance money or save for a new one but also a MK3 is rumoured for this year so wanna see what happens.

Aaaaaanyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what to do with the body now? It makes a great paper weight but wanted to give my lost love a better afterlife than collecting dust on my shelf.

    Ideas?

    SP

Canon cameras usually have a replacement cycle of 3 years, and the 5DmkII was released September 17, 2008.

So come september, it's likely there might be a mkIII
