I have a 92 Vw Golf MK2 but it is in bad shape now. I Realise that i won't get much if anything for it...

So i was thinking of selling it in parts. It is not original a lot of "Kitting" was done(previous owner) to it so i thought that selling them seperatelty might yield me more cash... Any thoughts?

If you have somewhere to keep the car, and the time to strip it, then go for it.

Most punters looking for parts for a car that old will want original parts, though. Depends if you think the kit bits are still desirable....

It will take years to sell off parts for a car of that age, better to just either stick it on Donedeal for a hundred or two or else sell for scrap. I don't think I have seen a Golf of that model on the roads in the past year.

Which Golf is it? Mk2 or 3? Is it a GTI?

If it's a GTI then break it and sell it, it'll shift fairly quickly if you put an ad on vagdrivers, if it's not a GTI just weigh it in for scrap

Not a GTI, i was thinking i might make more selling of the seperate parts
that are original like the lights etc. It has 4 17" toora alloys as well so i might make a bit of change out of it. I'll give it a good lookover at the weekend and make a final decision... I'd feel bad stripping a MK2 golf but if needs be and all that!!!!!

Maybe keep it in the back for a while, don't take it apart, advertise it for parts and strip what is required as you go.
Do that for a while, see how you go and if nothing happens, or very little, you can always sell the rest to the scrappies.
