    Hi There,
I was told at the garage today that one of the front springs on my polo is broken. The mechanic told me that i need to replace both front springs now since the car would be off balance to only replace one.

I was quoated a price of 260 euro to replace and fit both springs and to adjust the tracking on the car afterwards
(115 euro per spring and 30 euro for the tracking)

I got the price down to 225 euro but have no clue about cars and don't know if this is a realistic price or not!! My dad thinks its very expensive though.

Can anyone tell me am I being ripped off??!!
    Thanks!!

That's not a bad price, considering the labour that will be involved. If you want to get a better idea what it will cost, try getting a few quotes from different garages.

You will need to have both springs replaced, as mentioned by the mechanic. Any items replaced on suspension components always have to be done in pairs - left and right hand side on the same axle.
