    Hi ,

    I was wondering could someone have a guess at what is wrong with my laptop. Its 2 yrs old and cant be left on without be on the charge and if watching a movie it overheats very quickly and dies.

    Is it the battery of the fan that needs to be replaced? Its an Acer aspire 5536

    Would it cost much to get sorted?

    It could be clogged up with dust and the likes, or it could be a fan failure.

    Get a hoover and vacuum the vents of the laptop. You generally have to open up the laptop to do this properly though!

    Sounds like the batteries broke most laptop batteries are lithium-ion based if you keep charging them before they're completely empty it breaks the battery and it wont hold a charge for more than a few minutes.... Its the same way a phone battery lasts for less time after a year of use..... Buy a new battery they're pretty easy to pick up on amazon or ebay :)
