Leo O Kelly 'Will'- Album Launch

    10euro

Will is Leo O'Kelly's third album, closely following Glare and Proto. These songs are a departure for Leo, being the first time he has collaborated with a lyricist. The 11 songs on Will are written around the poems/lyrics of John McKeown, a Liverpool native who now lives in Dublin, and whose latest collection, Night Walk, is published this month by Salmon Poetry. Leo and John met at their local Dun Laoghaire Toddlers/Breastfeeding Group, Cuidu, where they regularly attended with their young daughters.

The album's theme, which seemed to materialise of its own accord, is one of obsession and dark desire. There is an otherworldly atmosphere manifest in these, often beautiful, sometimes sinister, love songs.

Leo O'Kelly, as well as his solo work, is founder member, with Sonny Condell, of the legendary alt folk duo,Tir na nOg. Tir na nOg released three highly acclaimed, and influential albums on Chrysalis Records in the 70s, and have released several albums since, including BBC John Peel Sessions, and their new CD on Life & Living Records, Live At Sirius.
"Will" is available now on iTunes and from www.leookelly.ie
