    HI All,

I came across this and thought I'd share in case anyone is interested.

What has Buddhism got to offer in relation to the global crisis of capital?

Buddhism and the Economic Crisis - Public Meeting, Friday 24 June, 7pm
Central Hotel, Exchequer St., Dublin 2

Speaker: Ken Jones, author of "The New Social Face of Buddhism".

The same speaker will lead a workshop entitled "Transforming self - transforming society" on Saturday 25 June, 11am-1pm, at the Central Hotel.

What has Buddhism got to offer in relation to the global crisis of capital? Ken Jones, a prominent proponent of socially engaged Buddhism, offers a provocative analysis of the world economic crisis from the perspective of Buddhist teaching. His lecture on Friday night will be followed on Saturday morning by a short workshop aimed at showing how reflective practice can be integrated with social and political engagement.

These events will be of interest both to Buddhists who wish to put their insights into practice in a social or political context, and to activists who wish to bring clarity of vision to their activities through reflective "inner work".

Ken Jones is a noted Buddhist scholar, a former Marxist activist, the founder of the UK Socially Engaged Buddhists Network, and author of The New Social Face of Buddhism.

For further details, please contact Mark Price, Socially Engaged Buddhists' Network, (086) 3454332.

is it free? doesn't appear to be a price there, and it says it's a public meeting.

Yes I rang up and both events are free (although I wouldn't be surprised if there is the opportunity to give a donation).
