Myself and my family are looking at a seaside holiday in Ireland this year and we're thinking of booking Kilkee for a week in July. However I've got some mixed reviews from friends and workmates about Kilkee. Any members on here who might be able to give me their verdicts on Kilkee? Thanks in advance.

It's a great base to explore from, plenty to see from there like Loop Head, the Cliffs of Moher, Lahinch and there's a boat trip you can take to spot whales/dolphins too, if you like that kind of thing. Been a few times, due another visit.

The beach there is great and there's a hotel with a pool you can use too if the weather doesn't match your expectations!

Have to agree with mikedragon, Kilkee is a great spot to base your self. Absolutely loads to do, great places to eat etc. Spent a great week with the family there last summer

(might be a bit of a day trip though to try and make Hook Head...:D)

If you get good weather it's a grand spot. The beach is very safe if you have young kids.
