    Hey everyone
I've never done any proper photography before, but I'm really interested in developing my skills for fun. In particular I'm interested in light painting, but the only digital camera I own is a Lumix point-and-shoot, and the ability to mess around with exposure/shutter speed/ISO settings is extremely limited.

My dad had a Canon T50 when he was younger, and I found it today, with 2 lenses and a flash box. I'm just wondering, does anyone have any experience of using a Canon T50, or any film SLR? Are they difficult to use (speaking as someone used to using point-and-shoot cameras), and can you light paint successfully with them?

From what I can see on the net and in books, photography looks to be very difficult, but I'm willing to learn! Thanks :o
