    Hey

I have a stigmatism in my eyes, it means i have to wear glasses and my eye is shaped like a rugby ball rather than a football

Lately when I go out into the light outside my eyes burn and I have to squint and I have to wear sunglasses

Is this normal ?? Can i get special glasses other than the ones i have??

Go and see a GP or an optician

Do you're eyes hurt when you are wearing your perscription glasses outside?

You could always get perscription shades, I got them recently and they are the best thing I've bought in years.

I have kerataconus, which is simiar to astigmatism in that the cornea is mis-shapen. I went to get fitted for contacts and was amazed at the clarity. Also, when I went outside on a sunny day I didn't need to squint and was perfectly comfortable with them. Much better than glasses or perscription shades.

Maybe you should try contacts for your astigmatism.

Go to an optician anyway to see if there is anything up with your eyes first though.

If you are experiencing problems with glare from light during the day I would recommend polarised prescription sunglasses. Polarised lenses eliminated 99.9% of glare and are a must for glare sensitive people. If you experience glare from car headlights you can get a antiglare (or reflection free same thing) on your prescription lenses. This clear multi layered coating is designed to counteract different spectrum's of light you experience everyday. Another option is the transitions (or reactions) which tint dark when exposed to UV light. They don't eliminate glare and they can go fully dark even on a cloudy day. Indoors they go clear but that can take a few minutes.

Happened to me last summer, wound up spending some very long days in the Mater eye unit, I had an eye inflammation, so best to get that checked out just in case.

Though I notice this summer I can't open my eyes in sunlight either, but don't have any of the other symptoms.
