A Chicago man was arrested Sunday after attempting to operate on his dog while drunk, according to police.

Stewart Gibbs, 44, allegedly told officers he was trying to remove a cyst from his dog's right ear, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Police were called to his apartment in the 200 block of North Clinton Street about 10 p.m. to conduct a well-being check.

Gibbs, who has no veterinary or medical training, appeared "very intoxicated" when officers arrived, according to CBS Chicago. They also discovered blood on the walls and floor and a Doberman with "a large open wound on its right ear."

The dog was very friendly to officers despite its injuries, and was treated at a nearby animal hospital before being turned over to Animal Care and Control.

Gibbs was charged with one count of felony aggravated cruelty to animals, the Sun-Times reports. He is expected to appear in bond court Monday.

    Here ya go.

Story time. Grab a chair. NSFW.

Few years back our cat (now dead God rest the sensless bugger) came in with a large swelling on the side of his head. His head looked like a big egg on it's side. We were rather angry thinking that he'd been given a kick.

Anyhoo, he was sitting in the kitchen and he started to scratch his 'swelling' and lo and behold it exploded in a fountain of puss and blood which spackled the kitchen floor and cupboards in a rubarb and custard kinda way.

The poor brute had develop a big FU cyst on his head. So being a dutiful brother carer I got out the rubber gloves and scalpel (just kidding about the scalpel) and dutifully sucked, I mean, squeezed the remainder of the bloody, gloopy, puss out of the side of his face and bathed the puncture wound with warm water and antiseptic.

You know what? When I was treating him he knew I was helping him. He was moaning but not trying to escape. He actually looked up and me and gave me a little wink when I'd finished cleaning him.

We brought him to the vet where he was given an antibiotic injection to stave off infection. Sure he was out patrolling his territory again within a couple of days.

    Cool story bro?

A drunk dog should be allowed operate on him as punishment.

Obviously the poor dog didn't have the chance to flea from his plight. I'm happy that the police collared that guy. The owner is obviously a psychological terriorist. Hopefully that dog will get a new leash of life - he deserves it. People really should paws and think about their pets when they read tails like this one.

    I hate myself.
