Not so much a rumour, just a rag making up a story.

The most ridiculous rumours I probably ever heard were that Liverpool would sell Torres during the January transfer window and that Chelsea were willing to pay £50 million for him.

Fact that it actually happened doesn't change the fact that it was the most ridiculous I've probably ever heard.

It was actually FC Bunyodkor in Uzbekistan and he nearly did sign for them. He even travelled over to to the club to discuss terms. Zico was their manager. Rivaldo signed for them and their current manager is Scolari.

Am I missing something here? What's so strange about this one? Crowe was one of the biggest talents in the league of Ireland a few years ago. When you consider some of the other top talents in the league are now playing premier league and championship football, going to Celtic is not much of a step up, is it?

I concur, actually they have ended up playing at a higher level than in Scotland. I think it really shows how Anglo-centric (with apologies to the welsh and scottish) the "soccer forum" is.
