Whilest he wouldn't reveal what changes he made to his game since the US Masters at the presentation afterwards, my guesses are as follows:

    Professional:
1 -Switch from Paul Hession to Dave Stockton as putting guru. Masterstroke.
2 - Conservative off tee, agressive after that.

    Personal:
1 -Bring Dad with him. Unlike Masters.
2 -Stop wearing Green in final day !
3 -(not sure about this). Back with Holly.

    Views welcomed:D

He was using a different putter. The Scotty he had for the past few years is now gone

His putting was the best I have ever seen it. I have often seen him play just as good tee to green but it was the puttung that was the difference. Going to Stockton was a masterstroke (pun definitely intended :D)

I doubt if he made that many. In the Masters he was playing superbly until he lost some confidence after a bad decision.

He is so long off the tee that at times he just needs to use his 3 wood. We saw him do that a bit more at the US Open.

He also made better decisions at the US Open......if he was in trouble then he took his medicine and tried hopefully to one putt for a par. At the Masters he tried to force a par when he was in trouble. Sometimes you have to accept that you will get into trouble and the main thing is to limit the damage and then get back to pars or better.

I could be wrong but it seemed like his caddie had a lot more say in the shots Rory had to
play. He wasn't aggressive when he didn't need to be, like not taking on the par5s on
Sunday. Also rolling putts up to the hole instead of lashing them 3 feet by was massive.
He had so many tap in pars it beggers belief.

Changing to Stockton has done him a world of good. Near all of his putts, bar a few on the final day had perfect pace to them and more often than not the line was bang on. That was one real flaw if anything and fair dues, he worked on it.

% golf, those from boards who follow me from Twitter and elsewhere know how much I have yapped on about this :D The 3rd hole in the 3rd round told me as much about how he has progressed as a player tactically. Controlled aggression you can call it. Commented on it at the time but it was fantastic to see.

I agree re: his caddy too. JP seemed to involved himself much more. There were times namely at the British Open 2nd round and Masters final round where I was absolutely astonished with the lack of involvement from the caddy.

his new putting technique has to be one of the quickest out there. once he's over the ball he pulls the trigger very fcuking quickly!

    and boy did it work.

lesson to all there.... including myself.

I think people say he had a meltdown at the masters too lightly, he was going fine until the 10th tee, if his ball had been a foot left or right it would have missed that tree and he would have been miles down the fairway, Mickelson would get those breaks just unfortunate for Rory, it was his first time in that situation, he has learned and now I feel he should win lots........

Another noticeable change, far less activity on twitter.......................noteable from Westwood too!!!

Agreed was a noticeable lack of twitter of the weekend. Must have been reading some of the
    comments here on this site.
Anybody know what his putting stats were like from inside 6ft? Don't know if i can remember
him missing any. Plus just the one 3 putt and that was on the 71st hole.

To be fair, there were nervy shots on the front nine before that disaster at 10th - he wasn't going fine

He had confidence this time, and controlled aggression. The final round in the masters, he felt he had to defend his lead rather than play his own game - this time he went and played his own golf, and let others try and catch him.

I think it was the third hole that he went into the rough, but instead of trying to get to the green from the rough, he chipped out and played safe. He matured a lot in 10 weeks.

He also got his hair straightened since the masters :p

Apart from the changes to his putting routine, he also seemed to have taken a much more upright stance over all putts.
