It doesn't matter as golfer play for themselves at the end of the day. If you wish to wish him well do so cos you like him or his talent not cos of his passport or political/cultural baggage.

He is whichever he want so to be.

I would imagine, being from Northern Ireland, he would like to be thought of as Northern Irish.

He views himself as both I believe. He's a damn good golfer either way.

Is he not both? Like being Welsh and British or Scottish and British?

Irishman but not from the Republic, I would have thought. Nothing wrong with him not wanting to stand behind the tricolour, he picks the Northern Ireland flag for a reason.

    Troll??

GB is made up of Wales, England and Scotland - and not N.I. The UK is made up of all 4. I think you might be getting mixed up with the two.
