    Got new GHD's at Christmas, they are the wide plate ones.
    Will i be able to take them to the States, will they work?

    I know a few years ago GHD's wouldnt work over there, just dont want to blow them up!!!

    It depends what voltage your ghd is.

    Here the voltage is 220 - 240 but in the States it's 110. So your ghd may not heat up fully or not work at all if it is a 220 - 240. My sister brought her hairdryer to New York earlier this year and it didn't work properly with just the adaptor plug.

    If you can get an adaptor plug that converts the volt you should be okay.

    It will work but won't heat up to the full power unless it's from the IV range, they have universal voltage.
