Hi. It's probably been asked here loads but i'm heading to thailand very soon and still have to get some travel insurance. I'm there for a month. Any suggestions on a good company? I would also like to specifically insure my dslr camera. Is this possible?? Thanks.

    I can recommend WorldNomads.com
My family had an insurance with them for our RTW trip, they were recomended by Lonely Planet (at least they used to be).
We had some claims and everything was paid as promissed.
The good thing is you do everything online.
There was 1 disadvantage with their insurance though - excess fee for every injury or disease you have is about €100.
Let's say you paid a local GP €60 and you had a flu, later another GP €80 and it was a broken arm. They are not going to pay you anything as every case is separate (if you pay €60 for a visit plus €70 for medicines then you get €30 back).
Well anyway, that was not a problem for us. We wanted to have a solid company that will pay our expenses if it goes to thousands.

May I suggest that you avoid Axa or anything underwritten by them, had Cash stolen in Thailand and they refused to pay out leaving me to lie to my own loss. Best thing is read the T&C's of any policy you are thinking of and see would they cover your camera, for theft loss etc; also make sure you check the excess also.

Axa are one of the worst companies I ever had to deal with so make sure you give them a wide berth, they told me when I purchased the policy my cash was covered, although in the T&C's of my policy afterwards; I actually wasn't, the forms they sent me out even had a cash section. They are total conmen!

I'm going to go with WorldNomads just because it's all online and seems simple.

I took out the standard USIT one a few years back which was Blue Insurance and they wouldn't pay out even when I was so sick my tongue went purple.
