Galway City Marathon 28/8/11

    The 2nd Galway city marathon is up at the end of August. I know the feedback last year was not great; primarily on the 2nd lap. However the website seems to make clear that stewarding would be professional this time around. Good course etc. Strongly tempted as I will back any event which tries to learn from the 1st time outing. Is it worth supporting and running? Pity its on the same time as Longford but have done both the 1/2 and fulll at Longford and fancy a different challenge. Thoughts?

    Yeah I'm going to do it alright. I didn't run it last year but it fits in nicely time wise for me and it also seems nice and flat. This will be my first full marathon and I'm aiming for about 3:55 or so. I was a bit worried when I read the feedback on last years thread but I thought sure what do I have to lose, I'll give it a lash anyway!! Hope I don't regret it.

    Actually tempted this year, last years apparent fiasco put me off but the fact that the second half is out of the city with no laps is changing my mind.
    Really nice quite roads out the westside.
    Will see closer to the date. Has potential to be a good one, but I reckon they have one more chance not to fk up before people give up on it.
