    A great little series of road races - a good little speed work out every Tuesday evening through out the summer months. All are welcome.

    Lord Mayor Series begins Tuesday, 21 June 2011 @ 20:00

    THE newly expanded Lord Mayor Summer series kicks off tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 21). From now until the end of August, Tuesday night will be race night in Raheny with a round of the League scheduled for every Tuesday evening at 8pm until August 23rd. Runners can look forward to two races this week.

    Round 2 of the League takes place on this Saturday evening at 5pm; it will be run in conjunction with the Raheny Festival which is scheduled for this weekend. Round 3 is on Tuesday week next, June 28. All the Tuesday night races begin at 8pm and the distance is 2 miles; two legs of the Howth Road/All Saints Road/Wade Avenue circuit.

    Registration in the clubhouse from 7.15pm. There are prizes in all the usual categories together with overall prizes for runners who competes in eight or more rounds.

    The club are offering a special €50 deal for runners who wish to enter the entire series. Entry per race is €7. Light refreshments and prize giving after the race in the clubhouse.

    (Incorporating Raheny Festival Road Race)

    You should sign up by going to the Raheny Shamrock club which is located beside the Raheny scouts den (across the street from the main RC church). Its a 2 lap course, fast and relatively flat. Usually around 60 turn up. Its a great lung buster!

    Going myself, but expecting a slow time, as i have my normal 10 miler, on a Tuesday, and we cant let that session slide...

    Yep.

    I'll be down to sign up for the series, first race since Barca marathon in March. Let's see how far I've regressed - macanri wil be a mere dot to me in front ;)
