I've been back running a few months now and it's all going well, fitness is returning albeit slowly. No injuries and motivation is staying high.
I was thinking of Dublin marathon later in the year but having raced an 800m on the track I'm now thinking of not doing DM and just concentrating on track 800/1500 but is it too late for this year? or does the track season stretch as far as Sept/Oct?
    Thanks

Track will go into August however given you have a based developed 6 weeks of specific work and you could clock a few shorter races. Good thing about the MD races is that the body needs less time to recover from these races so you could rack up a good few races in a short amount of time

This could also set you up nicely for a few 5k/10k races over the winter

The last BHAA race is the end of August, a 2 mile in Tallaght. You also have the Rathfarnham 5k (Sept/Oct?) which would fit in with the faster middle-distance type training. You won't reach your full potential this year as you'd have needed a good winters training behind you, but you'll still see some benefit from the training. You could then pick a goal for the New Year a longer road race or XC to increase strenght and stamina. This would give you a spring board for the track next year.
I'm thinking of joining up with the Knocklyon guys for some faster interval stuff, its easier to do with a group than on your own. For marathons you can train on your own but for shorter stuff its better with others.
