Route planner Website?

I'm looking for a route planning website where I can get milage for the exact route I want to take. I've used Google Earth and Maps but they are a point to point planner which will take you on the shortest, most direct route.

Is there a site that can give me what I want or maybe a feature on Google Earth then will let me plan the route I want?

I hope that makes sense :o

Another site (in addition to the above) that I used to use is http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/ - I haven't used it in ages now, so maybe it's not as good. MapMyRide is good.

But in Google Maps you can adjust the route so it becomes what you want it to be. For example, select your start and end points, and it will calculate the shortest distance. Then put your mouse over somewhere in the route, and drag it to a road you want to go on, and it will divert the route via that point. Keep doing this and it will eventually become the route you want to use.

If you are doing a circular route, you can split the route into two legs (e.g. start -> point x.... then another route: point x -> start) or you can make your end point and start point right beside each other (e.g. top of your road, bottom of your road), and drag the route between these points onto the various roads you want to travel on - the end result will be a circular route as you want it, but it's messy :P
