Not even with the key in the boot lock, maybe someone attempted to open them by shorting wires.

I agree with Rover James. All too common these days I'm afraid ! I tell ya, if saw a little **** doing that I'd be hard pushed not to kick him/her up and down the road !!!

Have seen 3 Nissan Notes with cut looms lately !!!

Well I never thought of that.......thanks for the tip. How would I be able to spot if the looms had be cut? Cars opened on the passenger side with the key and seemed to work ok after being driven.

Usually the wiring loom on the drivers door is cut by a hacksaw blade somewhere near the hinges.

Thanks, had a look and they all seem intact. No sign of interference at all. Checked boot, bonnet and all 4 doors. The mystery continues:confused:

So what's happening is the key not working in the drivers door or is the problem that the central locking remote on the key is not working? If it's the remote locking it could be the instalation of some new wireless device in your home or a neighbours house that's interferring with the remote signal from the key.

Key will only work in the passenger door to open the car but the alarm button on the key will only work some of the time when you're right up beside the steering wheel. Ignition starts no problem. Think you may have a point about the wireless device though. Two of the cars behaved normally when they were driven away from our home addresses. We'll know for sure over the next few days.........Thanks again for your help;)

What device could do this?surely a wireless router wouldn't have that impact

I have heard receivers for garage doors and some non EU approved equipment can cause problems, they run on frequencies reserved for other devices.

If its 3 cars parked in the same place and they have not been tampered with then its obviously some external factor causing an issue with the key fob signal.

Have a somewhat similar problem with my 06 Nissan Primera.

Around twice a month when pressing the open button on the keyfob, the indicators flash, cabin light comes on, but the doors won't unlock. Usually after 6-7 attempts or waiting a bit the doors unlock without any problems.

Car starts every morning (no battery issue) and always locks with the keyfob.

Can this be caused by a wireless device as well?

Doubt it, sounds like the car is getting the right signal, but there's an issue internal to the car. (not between your car and the key)

Could be as simple as greasing the right part, or could be some electronic module failure (guessing!)
