Two questions about my feet!

One kinda serious question - my feet are feckin' killing me from work! On my feet all day in special shoes, feet currently all covered in burst blisters and am limping (limped through a 9 hour shift today  ). Anyone got any quick fix solutions? :o

Second question - because my feet are killing me, my boyfriend will give me a foot massage when he gets in later (he's nice like that). However, my feet also smell from the gross shoes I have to wear in work. Should I stick my feet in his face or even try get my big toe up his nose for the laugh? Yay or nay? :p

Soak your feet in water with dettol.

Compeed are the bestest plasters for blisters. They are AMAZING.

Cheers, didn't know about the dettol. Tried those compeed things before but they kept moving around my shoes  will do the dettol thing tonight though, thanks!

Get your bf to blast those feet with piss.
    If that fails amputation ftw

Well, the blisters HAVE burst, and piss DOES have disinfectant qualities.

I think I've found the first thread where "blast it with piss" is a viable, practical option!

A nice long bath with a tiny dose of Savlon is always lovely..no need for bubbles, just semi hot water and a routine..and feet can be lovely(ish) (''.)

Smelly feet are not attractive, or reasonable for those who's arms should stretch to clean them. Whatever about any other feet problems, that can be understandable, due to sport or whatever - consistently 'smelly' is not one of em..Time to clean up those tootsies..especially before you decide to test anybody with them..

lol they're not consistently smelly, they never normally smell! :p They just smell tonight 'cause the shoes do that to all the girls' feet in work (the guys' shoes are different)

Breadsoda will heal your blisters and remove the smell, and maybe some cotton socks and lemon insoles.:)

    Safety shoes.

when i was working in landscaping i bought socks in the mens department in the local co-op... should have been called 'Hard Mens Department'. glorious socks, lots of support for your arches, cushioned on heels and balls of feet and best bit , they were made with anti fungal stuff (material) so smell was reduced :) you can get them in the outdoors shops... ask for walking socks

I used to have a problem similar to this. (The blistered foot thing, not the feeling I want to gross my partner out with my stinky feet).

I got a pair of copper socks in foot solutions in waterford and they did the trick. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are a bit expensive but well worth it, I've been back for more and some really comfy shoes.

Pretty much this with a inbuilt second sock or a pair of hiking inner socks and your normal socks(because hiking socks tend to be rather bulky). The inner material is tight Lycra which rubs against the outside sock rather then your foot. It stops the blisters which I'm assuming are a bigger problem. Most have small quantity's of silver in the lining which kills a % of the bacteria and helps with the smell also.

Defiantly worth it if you spend all day on your feet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,041 ✭✭✭cocoshovel

Go get one of those manky fish baths. I was walking through down the other day when I thought I spotted a new pet store, but no it was just a bunch of people sitting around with their feet in fish tanks while hundreds of fish ate away at the mangy hard dry skin at their feet. I nearly threw up.
