Just wondering. Though car I was in today was high (car sounded like it needed another gear), but seems ok on the rev counter?

Didn't know there was a previous thread, but I didn't exactly look either!!!

I was just surprised at the roar from the engine for the speed and even more surprised when I looked at the rev counter.

Hoping someone else with a megane might contribute to the thread. The car belongs to my fiance, so I don't want it to blow up!!!:D

    2,900 rpm at the actual 100 kph - 2,800 at a speedo indicated 100 kph (1.8 petrol).

God I wish my car had a sixth gear - the high revs means it guzzles fuel at motorway speeds (I refuse to slow down too 100 kph on a motorway because a) I'm not that cheap and b) I have a life and I value my time more than the odd bit extra here and there)!
