Spin Off Ideas

If you could create a spinoff series for any show (past or present) what would it be? What would be your main plot and what characters would you carry over from the original series?

I'd go for a Tony Almeida spinoff of 24. (Beware contains spoilers from season 5+) The idea is to begin right after the events of Day 5 and follow Tony as he gets taken in by Emerson's group, dealing with Michelle's death, turning to the dark side etc. It could focus on how he uncovers all those involved in day 5 event and him maybe taking out members of the blue-tooth group. We would also get to see some of the bad stuff Tony did with Emerson and it would also be able to answer some questions like Wayne Palmers fate.

I would have the show to run for maybe 2 seasons max, up to a point a few months prior to Day 7. It would also be a chance to bring back Emerson (a character I really liked) detail more and Wilson and his group.

When they finally decide to kill The US Office, a spin-off series starring Creed's adjustment to the world away from The Office would be cool. One of the funniest characters in The Office, and in current sitcoms, but yet we know very little about him.

I've heard of a rumour for a spin off called "The Agency" to follow Entourage.

There's much more scope for a wider variety of characters as well as recurring guest stars & "actual stars" guesting.

Yeah depending on the 8th series, Eric could easily still be in it, can't see Vinny and Drama being in the spin-off, though. Same with Turtle, whose probably my second favourite character in the show, tbh!

I think it could be a very good programme.

I always thought a great idea for a spin-off from Friends would have been Pheobe's backstory - her life on the streets. It could be darkly comic.

I'd still love to see a spin-off from firefly...

The Further Adventures of Bill Haverchuck - 10 years after finishing McKinley High we catch up with Bill, now a millionaire, but still the same geeky Freaks and Geeks alum we all knew and loved. Great opportunity for cameos and guest appearances of other Freaks and Geeks alumni.

Creed Bratton's own life story could make a decent series.

Thats actually a very good idea/plot. I never thought a 24 spinoff could work but this idea I really like. It carries a lot of potential. You could also tie it into some of the 24 plots, such as seeing the aftermath of the

nuclear bombing of Valencia

. Also instead of realtime, maybe each episode could play out over a 24hr period (something the 24 creators orginally wanted to do with season 2).

How about they take one of Peter's friends in Family Guy and give him a spinoff? It would very original, not like Family Guy and certainly wouldn't rely on the same old cutaway gag format at all. Oh wait...
