Hi, I'm far from a music junkie or anything. Just after a replacement for my current ones thats not awful quality ebay ones or overpay for something thats of such high quality I won't appreciate. :pac:

The ones I'm using at the moment are Fender TS-411 which "are" amp headphones, but I got kinda used to using those with the 3m cord which came in handy for hooking up to my tv while in bed.

So to get a cord size like that again should I be specifically looking at amp headphones? My usage is just online games and tv mostly.
And with that in mind any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

First of all don't base your selection on cable length, you can get extension cables for up to and beyond 3m. They're easily picked up for in places like Maplin or Peats but generally they're cheapest online. What do you mean by Amp headphones? Do you mean the headphone jack size 3.5mm or 6.3mm? There are converters included with some headphones. And are very cheap to buy if needs be.

To give you a better answer, tell us a few things first.

How much do you want to spend?

Do you want to keep sound in and not be disturbed by external sound leaking in (closed back headphones) or is it unimportant to you or do you need to hear background noise (open headphones)?

Do you want to use them on the go or solely at home? Larger headphones might be convenient at home but smaller ones are less unwieldy on the move. Having a non-removable 3 metre cord is never going to be portable.

When used for gaming would you gain a competitive edge from in game sounds like a FPS or is it of little importance? Some games in particular like Mw2 I've found the sound can help greatly whilst in Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Black Ops, the in game sound is of little to no use to take advantage of.

Have you considered that a wireless headphone would be more useful to you? It'll be more expensive than a wired one generally but would you like the convenience of not having wires. Also bear in mind that you'll probably need to budget in rechargeable batteries and charger if you plan on doing long sessions uninterrupted.

Someone is bound to recommend these: I'm not sure which works out cheaper but have a read up on it to see what you think.
