MF265 Clutch problems after engine fitted..?

Story is we put in a 2nd hand engine in our MF265 as the old 1 blew in the frost. We used the same clutch that was in the 265 from day 1. All was running good, drove on a few good test runs, so i decided to adjust (shorten) the clutch, drove it again and was still going good and I went to move it one evening in the shed and it wouldn't go into gear (like the clutch was horsed).

Just wondering would you have any ideas what could be causing it?

Will it go in when the engine is off? Try adjusting again. Why would one put an old clutch back in when the engine/box was separated? Its common practice to install new a clutch kit whether its car/tractor/truck .

yeah it goes in alright when its not runnin,i tried adjusting it but it was no good. I know it would off made sence to put in a new one into it when it was split but the old clutch was grand and never gave any bother before.

I'd say there is something out of place with the clutch assembly.May have to remove again.By any chance does it have a hydraulic clutch?
