Recently Graduate: Should I Stay or Should I go?

    Hi,

I was looking through other threads to see if I could find an answer, but just got even more confused.

I am 20 years old and have recently just finished my degree 2 weeks ago, and am currently living in the accommodation I have been living in since September for college - seemed to be better job opportunities. But to this day all I have had are promises of jobs coming up, or unsuccessful applications :(

Money is running low so I'm almost moving back home. I was just wondering would I get more living at home or staying where I am. Its just I really don't want to end up being a burden on my parents as I have managed my three years of college by working every summer and by this literally working my fingers to the bone saving for college. Think the last two summers I only headed out like 3 times and I haven't went on even a weekend away in 7 years! I am waiting to hear on whether my Masters Application has been approved, and if it is I really need to start saving - but I can't really save anything if I've no money:confused:

Just wanted to hear from anyone with somebody with good solid advice.

If you've rented for a year you should be able to apply for rent allowance (as long as your rent is under the max allowance for your area). Have you signed on?

Thank you! nope I haven't signed on yet... what would your advice be stay where I am and sign on there or move back home and sign on?

Definetly sign on first- it can take a few weeks to a few months for your application to come through so get that ball rolling asap. As for staying in your place or moving home that'd be up to yourself- I'd say apply for it cause worst case you can stop it and move home if you find your finances getting too tight :) hope it works out for you!

At least at home you'll be able to save up some money again :) Good luck with the sign on!
