Apple Tv 1 questions

    Got an Apple Tv 1 yesterday (160GB) to have a play with, It has firmware 2.2 on it and is jailbroken and has NitroTv and CouchSurfer on it.

    If I was to update it to the latest firmware for the apple tv 1 (3.0.2) is it a big deal to jailbreak it again and put on NitroTv and CouchSurfer or do I need blob's backed up or anything?

    How can I backup the movies that are on it in NitroTv ? I assume they are avi's.

    I don't thing an upgrade will delete any files from the apple tv. But to be sure you can access your files using winscp on windows. Not sure what you need if you have a mac.

    You will need to rejailbreak your apple tv again. Are you using xbmc on the apple tv? If not you got to check it out. Loads of info on it in the Apple TV thread. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056246667

    Thanks , I used Filezilla to pull off the moves as there was 140Gb of them - they are still copying so later I will update it to the latest and rejailbreak it.
    Xbmc is not on it currently.

    How did the upgrade go? Have you tried out XBMC?

    Upgrade went brilliant so now on 3.02, then made the USB jailbreak last night and put the loader on for xbmc and boxee, made a little mistake when jailbreaking as when creating the USB key I taught it was pick either the loader or ssh and I just picked the loader so have to rejailbreak again later with the 2 options picked.
    The upgrade didnt delete the movies as you taught., apple tv seems alot quicker now on the newer firmware.

    Xbmc looks the business, really nice interface so just need to install ice films during the week.
