Doe is up on truck(7&1/2 ton tipper) and have not put one through before, cant seem to find anything on google about it except ads for doe companies. Will be running it thrugh a garage thats a friend of my brothers but i am just wondering is there any obvious stuff i could do myself to maybe save a bit.A fella was saying that he thinks there is more mirrors required and reflectors and stuff like that.Maybe this stuff was required before but the last fella that had the lorry had a fleet of them and i think he might have known the guys in the doe station pretty well.Any money saving advice would be much appreciated.

Not that I'd know but apparently leaving a few bob in the ashtray works wonders.:)

    DoE tester here.

    Legal requirements are stuff like
    • Tacho calibration every 2 years
    • If truck was first registered from end of Sept '01 it needs a speedlimiter
    • Weight and Dimensions plate (a lot of them are filled out wrong, if you know who fitted it make them do it right FOC
    • Side and rear markings. The newer style reflective tape looks better, works better and should not fade like the old stuff
Most other stuff is common sense. Have your lights all working and focused, make sure you have no broken springs.

If you have drum brakes make sure the shoes are properly adjusted.

What make of truck is it? I might be able to point out other common faults
