Spending the day in Tullamore doing abit of shopping and then heading to the Leinster Semi-Final between Dublin & Galway in the evening.

Any tips on where the best place to park is......whilst I've been to Birr's GAA Ground several times I have never been to O'Connor Park!

Coming from Dublin, when you get off motorway at killbegan, coming towards tullamore, take first exit sign posted ARDAN, then you will come to a Centra shop on right hand side also there is a small roundabout, turn left at small roundabout and park on hard shoulder (every one does it for big matchs) its a new by pass road around the town. 5 min walk to O Connor Pk.

Ended up parking in Market Square for the afternoon and evening. Only cost 2.50 and then had to take the back roads through Ballingar and Rhode to avoid the awful match traffic that seemed to have built up from Tullamore to the M6.
Was there an easier way to have avoided the match traffic?

yeah, you could have drove from market sq out to the daingan rd (bout 30 seconds from square) and at the first roundabout take a left and it would have brought you straight back to killbegan motorway and would have avoided much of the trafic, these directions would have got you to killbegan motorway in about 8mins. On the up-side im sure you were happy Dublin won and improving every year. congrats and hopefully ye beat kilkenny or at least give them a good scare. they only beat ye by 6pts at last years leinster final and that will be on their minds.
