Apple Tech Team?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a Macbook and just wondering what Apple's Tech team are like. Currently I have a Dell Inspiron - got it in August 2008 and it's been nothing but trouble. I've had the technicians out at least five times and in fairness they've been great - there's never any delay arriving and they're efficient. I've only heard positive things about Macbooks, so hopefully I won't be on first name terms with the servicemen, still though, anything can happen. If any of you have had experience with Apple's tech team could you please let me know. Good, bad, indifferent, whatever!

Also, just while I'm here - is there really that much to be saved by buying from America?

    Cheers
