    Hi

I stupidly made a house insurance claim againist fbd when the sun shone through our dining room window againist a mirror and burnt a hole in our leatherette dining room chair, we weren't covered as it was classed as an action of the sun and anyway was below our excess, anyway I now have to renew our house insurance and when looking for a quote on the net i'm being asked have we made a claim, as I didnt get any money for the chair does this mean we made a claim or not? not sure what to put so any advise would be great, dont want to put no if it may cause problems down the line

It really comes down to how specifically the question is asked. Some will ask whether you have ever made a claim, where some will phrase if you have ever made a claim whether covered or not.

You should generally be ok to say no.

Would agree, nothing was paid out to you, so I reckon you are still claim free.
