Looking for a lift to Ashbourne from Dublin

    Hi anyone,

I am living in the Marino/Fairview part of Dublin. That is Dublin 3. I just started a new job in Ashbourne. I can get the bus out. However, I would be willing to pay someone 30 euro each week if they gave me a life out each morning. If you live near or drives by Marino/Fairview. I start work at 8am and finish at 5pm. I would need a lift back also. I would need leave around 7.15 am and I would be willing to wait till 5.30 pm to be collected or so.

Let us know if your interested.

    Berk

Alternatively: Bus Eireann route 103 goes from City Centre (side of Liberty Hall I think) to Ashbourne via Finglas and the nearest stop to you is on Whitworth Road (Along the canal) near Drumcondra train station.
You could cycle to there, bus to Ashbourne and do the reverse on the way back? can't take more than 15 mins to cycle from Fairview to Drumcondra can it?
Failing that, The buses through fairview/marino all end up around gardiner St / talbot st, which is near the first stop of the Ashbourne bus
[edit] I see you're specifically not looking at bus options, but i think you're asking for something very specific which might be hard to find [/edit]

Cheers for the feedback. I am in the process of getting a drivers licence myself. It takes around 30 minutes to drive more or less. At the moment, I get up at 6am leave around 630 get to the bus stop at 645. Get a bus. Arrive at Beresford place at 7 for the bus. That takes about 35-40 minutes considering it stops a few times along the way. My job is outside the town but the bus stops about 5 minutes from my work.

I finish at 5. The next bus 530. I'm not too sure of where all the stops are but it is about a 20 minutes walk to one. The journey takes 40 minutes. Get a bus home. All goes well I am home around 630pm.

Cycling my be a good option. If I was driving it would give me 2 hours of my life back per day. If someone was going in that direction for their work. I give them 30 euro weekly, less than my fares and extra money for someone else.

I'd recommend cycling the whole way but it really requires there to be a shower in your workplace and some mornings (read: hangovers, storms, snow) you'll just want to avoid it altogether :)
