    Hi All :),

I want to get into photography and have been reading through various threads but hopefully you have point me in the right direction on to get started properly

    1. Suggestions on decent starter camera without spending a fortune? At the moment I've your standand fuji finepix camera which has actually given me some great shots but want to upgrade to a proper camera so I can earn to do more.

    2. Classes -Have seen one or two on www.iop.ie and was wondering if anyont has feedback on them? Would like to do a few classes over the summer if you can recommend/ know of anything especially around the Celbridge - Maynooth - Tallaght area let me know

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and hopefully I won't be a newbie at photography for too long :D:D:D

    Welcome.

    1. As far as advice on a suitable camera, for a start have a look through this thread. It should give a lot of advice from people here.

    2. Classes can be fine, but for general learning you get a lot more value from a membership to a good camera club. This is a more interactive option as you get more out the more you put in, rather than being spoon fed. In the area you have specified there are some excellent clubs, including Cellbridge, Tallaght and Dublin. Each is different but welcome visitors. Go along to a meeting or two of each and see which one suits you best. You will then be exposed to a lot of others who can assist you and talks/workshops/trips which will help too. You will also have people advise on your images in various ways.

You should also get involved with people here. Have a look on the Events thread and meet up for things like Photo Walks or trips like Charlieville Castle.
