To put in my last post from just seconds before the lock happened:

As pointed out here we have had blue in our 3rd kits before, including between 99-02, although I don't remember that 01-02 one at all. Seems fairly similar to the new one I think.

So, the first debate, should it be on Purslow or the Andy Carroll fee in relation to the price Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres? :p

That 01-02 one was black on the arms. We were wearing it the night Leverkusen knocked us out of the CL quarter finals

The old thread should be turned into a movie ... With the tagline "based on the true story of the third most viewed thread on boards detailing one clubs epic struggle on and off the pitch against the gruesome twosome."

57K posts in the old thread. Good work fellas :pac:

Don't believe that story about Fergie looking to land Adam either. If it's come from anywhere other than the journalist's own imagination, I'd say it came from Oyston himself!!

Well, my first "major" post has come from scouring the usual spots for transfer gossip...
Liverpool are reportedly planning a move to sign Newcastle United pair Jose Enrique and Jonas Gutierrez after seeing Magpies star Kevin Nolan leave for West Ham today. The midfielder’s departure has sparked speculation that others will follow an assumption furthered by Joey Barton who announced on twitter that he and the wide pair could be on their way to the St James’ Park exit.

Kenny Dalglish is known to be interested in Spanish left back Enrique and sources state that the Anfield boss will now look to bring in the Argentine winger who has played so effectively as a pairing on the left wing for Newcastle United.

On hearing the news that Kevin Nolan had left for Upton Park, Joey Barton announced on his Twitter account “£mejoseandjonasnext” amid speculation that owner Mike Ashley was seeking to sell a number of players this summer. Liverpool signed Andy Carroll from the club for a fee of £35m last January and now look to be set to make moves to bring in his former team-mates.

Barton himself has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool’s Merseyside neighbour’s Everton and Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew must be hoping that he can stop a mass exodus of talent leaving the North-East club. Liverpool are known to be looking for a left back having seen the likes of Emiliano Insua, Paul Konchesky and Fabio Aurelio fail to impress in the position. Youngster Jack Robinson has made an impact but at 17 years of age is not thought of a first team regular.

Dalglish has also been looking to bring in a winger and has been linked with moves for Stewart Downing, Charles N’Zogbia and Juan Mata but could now look to bring in Jonas Gutierrez who has been a consistent performer at Newcastle United since his move from Mallorca to the club back in summer of 2008.

The pair are valued at around £22m and Liverpool’s new owner’s appear more than willing to back their boss in the transfer market this summer having already brought in England Under 21 international Jordan Henderson.

    Link

If even remotely true, then its frankly ludicrous to even consider spending that amount on those two players. Don't get me wrong they're decent players but for that money?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

Well if we believe the stuff from Adam's agent and one or two others he wants the Liverpool move more than any.

Spurs have rejected 22mil for Modric from Chelsea apparently, perhaps Ferguson can get embroiled in that one.

    Oh noes!!

Roma keeper Doni rejects Liverpool switch
Roma goalkeeper Doni has snubbed a move to Liverpool, according to reports in Italy.

Kenny Dalglish is understood to be in the market for an experienced goalkeeper to provide cover for current No.1 Pepe Reina.
Liverpool had been linked with a move for their former keeper Brad Friedel before the American chose to join Tottenham.

The Reds turned their attentions to Brazilian stopper Doni, who has fallen down the pecking order at Roma this season, and it was reported that the Italian side had accepted a £1m bid from Liverpool.

But it has been reported that Doni has turned down the chance to join Liverpool because the Premier League side offered him less than his current deal at Roma.
The 31-year-old could now join Galatasaray if the Turkish side fail to land first-choice target Fernando Muslera from Lazio.

Actually, now that I think about it, is there any news on where Gulacsi is heading on loan?

Just waiting on him to pass medical after the U-21's, shouldnt be a problem.

So how long before this thread overtakes the number of posts in the Utd thread?

I reckon an unconfirmed sighting of Mata house hunting in the Liverpool area would push it over the line

yes, new season, new hope, new thread and hopefully some new arguments. the "carroll really cost £XXm" saga should now be banished along with n*t s***d.

Fairly comprehensive review of his performance against Spain:

    http://liverpool.theoffside.com/team-news/jordan-henderson-versus-spain-2.html

On the Ukraine match, google only gave me a live update article from the the Guardian, which stated
80 min: Henderson - so he is playing - heads Beliy's corner away at the near post. Liverpool fans might be watching him with some trepidation. He's not been ... good.

The vultures are gathering around Pearce very quickly, and to be honest he doesnt seem to have a clue what he's at. Seems happy enough to launch long balls most of the time.

Any job with England is absolute poison though. I wouldnt pay any heed to anything that happens in this tournament regarding England players.

Personally I think he's useless. No idea how Pearce got that job. Heard him after the Spain game. It was all about spirit and fight. How about vision, passing and movement Stu?

England have a pretty good side over there and that draw with Ukraine was awful. Knives are deffo out for him I'd agree.
