Best route Galway to Falcarragh, Donegal

    Hi, heading to Falcarragh in Donegal, i know how to get to sligo but after that, having never been to donegal before, am unfamiliar with the county. What would be the best way to get to Falcarragh? Thanks in advance for your help.

    You could go cross-country from Donegal town but the road is awful, and not being familiar with the area, you are aswell off to go to Letterkenny, and follow signs for Dunfanaghy/Falcarragh from there. You are looking at 1.5/2hours from Sligo town depending on traffic. Nice place though:)

    Thanks, had looked at a map but as Gold Leaf Tea was saying about roads being bad and being unfamiliar with county, i didn't know whether to go by Gweedore or Letterkenny. So i thought i'd ask here. Thanks Gold Leaf will go by Letterkenny so.

    Definitely far easier to head for Letterkenny.

    You will land right in the town(Letterkenny) at the roundabout, you will see the Bus Eireann bus station to your right and all different shops straight ahead, the Glenaney House will be on your left.

    At the roundabout you take the 3rd exit you will come to Oatfields sweet factory literally few seconds and simply turn up left. Top of that bray you will see the fire station to your left and the hospital kinda to the right.
    You will be at another roundabout and take the 3rd exit.

    From then it's a plain straight road!(well bends and curvy roads of course but no more roundabouts just plain ole stick to main road:p)

    You will go straight through a town called Kilmacrennan, then Termon, Creeslough and Dunfanaghy.....Falcarragh is next town.
    Would take ya maybe 45 min drive from Letterkenny to Falcarragh....depends really how fast ye drive and if ye get lost :P :pac:

    Thank Toni, that was perfect, as for the Donegal forum, there's heaps of people from donegal here, so that's why i thought i'd ask in Galway forum. :)
