Marriage/Wedding Venue?

    Hello,

We're looking for a non denominational wedding venue. We want a church but not a Catholic church. We were looking at the Free Creed/Unitarian churches in Stephen's Green and Cork. Does anyone know of any others around the country or have any suggestions?

We have a general (non denominational) faith and don't really want a civil ceremony that might be over (crash, bang, whallop!) in 10 or 15 minutes. Any ideas on civil ceremonies that had that something extra or were in locations that added something would be welcome.

    Help!

Hi Rollins1. How are your plans coming along? I am a Christian engaged to a non-practising Catholic. We are in a total dilemma about our ceremony. So many questions and so far no answers.

You can have a civil ceremony but add your own extra things in (as long as they are in no way religious and don't mention god etc) like readings, poems and music.

Okay its not a church but the civil ceremony room in Barberstown castle is fab!! I've been at 2 weddings there. It is laid out similar to a church - http://www.barberstowncastle.ie/wedding-photogallery.html You can arrange for singers/musicians and have a lovely non-religious ceremony there, I was at one that was nearly an hour long!!

Yep Barberstown Castle is absolutely fabulous.. The treat everyone like royalty and it can be your location for the entire day!

It has absolutely everything-including a fab setting for photos so it is really worth checking out.. Plus it has the added acoustics of a church, so if you wanted to have musicians, the sound is absolutely fabulous...even for something as small as just classical guitar instrumentals etc. :)

Id agree on Barberstown Castle. I've done a few weddings there and some of them were civil weddings. All the civils I was at were as long as a regular wedding - you can get a humanist minister who can give lovely ceremonies. The area they use for the weddings is lovely as well as the roof is glass and laid out very nice.
