I realise that this has been discussed but to see how these people are being treated, nearly brought a tear to my eye. It brings shame on us that so few had the guts to stand up but pride that there is still one or two that kept the tri colour flying. Hope ye will be able to view it in Ireland. It will probably be on more 4 again this week.

This government is not a democracy government, why should the people of Rossport suddenly owe Shell their land and their fishing grounds, it took orders from the top to make the navy, Gardaí and Aircore have to go out there to stop them.

Where do I start without offending people?

Oh hell, I'll just just say it.

Mindless attention seeking hippies decided to storm into a teacup with their vague activism.

One day a couple of years ago, a mindless stoned hippie decided that he was going to go to Palestine to protest against the Israeli occupation. In his stoned state, he accidentally booked a ticket to Rossport. He brought more hippies with him who were all equally stoned. The hippies, after realising that they were in the wrong place and that they hadn't any money to get back home, decided to kick up a fuss about the vaguest issues that might have somehow breached their rights.

The hippies found out about how Shell wanted to build a gas pipeline, which could have benefited the locality, and realised that they had struck a goldmine. The evil capitalist corporation "Shell" was trying to spread their exploitationalist capitalist evil, which, according to the hippies, was almost on par with the Israeli human rights abuses in Palestine. The hippies turned activist and set it to exaggeration mode. They summoned their allied hippie army from abroad and mobilised them in Mayo. The rest is history.

seriously can we make this a banned topic , the shell2sea nut jobs are wrong, its not a difference of view or opinion , at this stage they are as bad as holocaust deniers , those lot of ignorant hippys and rent a mob dole students just need to pack up and go home, this topic needs to be banned from AH and never spoken of again as it just adds fuel to the fire

the only people in this situation I feel sorry for are the tax payers for paying for garda resources , the local residents who have to live with this shower and the gardai themselves & employees of RDS who are being attacked by these ignorant scumbags every single day

it would never happen in dublin , better garda resources, drugs squad present and a higher concentration of people to complain about and witness the criminal and anti social activities of these scumbag protesters would have the whole lot of them locked up within a week
