    Hi
Im currently doing my thesis, while im not great at spss ive made a few attempts. but not sure if im on the right track so....Basically i conducted a survey looking at peoples own behaviour and then asked them about what they think their peers is. same questions but just they rate them on their peers. i want to compare differences across age groups and gender. So.. so far iv looked at frequencies across age groups and gender. then i attempted to do correlations, wondering here if theres a way i can do correlations between the own persons reported behaviour and peers actual behaviour? as its all the same variable? Is that even possible or a silly q? ive then done correlations on own behaviour with perceived peers behaviour. Finally I want to do a repeated measures for a likert scale variable with another likert scale variable, ive no theoretical background to say which q on the scale is most likely to influence the behaviour so should I do a blocked entry? and also as i still need to look at gender and age groups, how do i do this??
Apologies if this sounds confusing, im a bit confused myself, know what i want to get just dont know how to do it. any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

I was pretty good with spss but I would need to have a clearer picture of what variables you have measured and what you are trying to achieve.

If you have time I would recommend the this book as it very clearly works through the different tests etc.

What exactly do you mean when you say 'it's all the same variable'? Is there a measure of own rated behaviour, and then a measure of rated behaviour of peers? I'm not sure how they could be the same variable.

Is there any way you could give a quick summary of the questionnaire, and how each part was measured?

Have you checked out http://www.statisticshell.com/ or http://statistics.laerd.com/ ?

They're pretty helpful sites for using SPSS.
