I bought an iphone for the misus online. It was sent from the states afaik. After nearly a month it wasnt delivered, so the misus rang Apple, they said it got stopped at customs. After talking to Apple on the phone they told her because she was a valued customer that they would send another.

After a few days the second iphone arrived. And we thought great, thats sorted now, problem over.

Then yesterday, the original iphone arrived after being released from customs, so now i have two iphones:eek:.

We have only paid for one. Im now waiting on a call from Apple looking for the return of one of them!

So what do i do, do i ring Apple and tell them i have two or do i just treat myself to an iphone;).

Ive no idea where i stand in regards to my comsumer rights. But if they come looking for one of them, ill quiet happly send one back. I cant afford to pay for another one???

    Send it back.

You may also get a bill from Customs soon too, for duty/tax on the phone.

Why on earth did Apple send another phone when the original was stuck in customs. Stuck in customs doesn't mean lost. But I would send one of them back even though they were stupid enough to send a second in the first place.

Maybe ill just e-mail and see what they would like, who knows they might be open to a giving a large discount! :D

Didnt think apple shipped any items from its US online store to Ireland

Also what kind of idiot sent you another item just because customs had the first, customs delaying sometjing is pretty normal

Definitely something fishy here; AFAIK you're not dealing with Apple Inc

i would agree with you there. i can't understand how apple america would ship you the iphone to ireland. anything i bought from apple (although not an iphone admittedly) came quickly and didn't come from america. i would be very curious did you buy from apple or a reseller type

I bought the phone from the official apple website (apple.com). The person the misus talked to was american. They quoted about 3 weeks initially for the first delivery.

Apple.com only ship to US. At least that's what they used to do, plus their iPhones have only recently become sim free.

    Something seems off here?

OP, they have shipped you two phones, and you could potentially be liable for both. You need to contact them (as you have) and figure out the way forward.

Sorry, my mistake. The misus ordered it from apple.com/ie.

And she sent an e-mail off on wed, we have still not heard back. Its all above board, i automatically assumed she ordered from the states because the customer rep she was talking to was an American.

Im guessing the iphone had to shipped from the states, she ordered a white one, the bog standard one was quoted as being delivered alot faster when you go online to check out delivery times. We where aware that it would take nearly 3 weeks to arrive. When it didnt arrive after the promised delivery date, thats when she contacted them, and they said they would send another.

Bear in mind the was a birthday present and the date came and went without the phone being delivered. I was very suprised myself when they said they would send another!!

Bizarre. I think some of the stuff that's in very high demand can be shipped from China too. I presume they checked the status of the first phone, I can't understand why they sent you another! I suppose you better ring and let them know.

We got the call today, the customer rep we where dealing with was off last week. He arrived in this morning and the POD's where sitting on his desk.

They are sending out UPS to collect the second iphone. Just as well i left it in the box. He did offer us 85 euro off, but that is still way above our budget.
