I bought a laptop battary from a person on ebay earlier this year and it said it has a year warrenty
something went wrong with it and i had to send the battary back to the person i got if off in China by my own money.
Before I get the battary back i am told i have to pay them money so i can get it shipped back to me

Can I be held accountable for the cost of postage even do it is within the warrenty?

    Warranty from China is unenforceable.

Batteries from China are poor to very poor to the occasional good one. Usually, a warrantied item is shipped at sellers expense, again unenforceable.

Sellers from China are notorious for making their money from the posting and shipping charges.

The cost of shipping items back to China effectively nulls any warranty offered. From my own experience, I simply order another battery from a different company ~ !!!

But you've already sent the item back [?] so you're sort of stuck ~ if you proceed, make sure you have your original import duty invoice and the item is clearly marked as a warranty replacement as customs are stopping everything from China because the Chinese shippers export duty and VAT attractive items under the value.

You shouldn't, no, but this is eBay and China you're dealing with, so you're on your own. Personally, I wouldn't pay any more. No sense in throwing good money after bad.

You could open a dispute as item not described and ask for an amount that you would be happy with as a refund..the seller may agree to save the hassle if he thought you were going to send it back and he would have to refund all the money..
