hello guys i am having loads of trouble with my iphone ATM.

the battery gets drained in 6hrs.

before i sleep its fully charged when i wake up its about 40%.

i've done everything restored firmware turned off 3g reduced brightness etc.

so i have decided to send it to apple for a replacement.

Before i do so, what do i need to do ?

I have backed it up by syncing it to itunes.

    the iPhone is jail broken.

how will i send it back ? does anyone know apples number and is it free phone ?

    too much questions,

    thanks guys

I don't own an iPhone but my experience with Smartphones in general is similar to yours. Assuming the battery is not the problem then some things you could try are:

    1. Hit the Home Button twice to show a list of running apps at the bottom of the screen. Quit all of them by touching any in the list for a couple of seconds. The running apps will have a small red circle on the top left of each. Tap the red circle to quit.

    2. Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth when not in use.

    3. Log out of Facebook or any social networking sites you subscribe to.

There are other things you could try but not having an iPhone I couldn't really say how to do them. For example push data for Gmail etc may be accessing the net using the battery ? I'm sure someone here will be able to advise more specifically.

    Hope this helps somewhat !

    Ken

Restore the firmware as new, rather than from a backup. Your phone will be back to factory settings then. Then test the battery life. If it seems okay, it was a software issue and you can then re-attempt to jailbreak. If it's still not working, it could very well be a battery issue and will need to be sent back to Apple.

Apple.com/ie go to support. Numbers are there, or you can organise the repair yourself through the website.

    Phone Apple on 1850946191.

If you have AppleCare you can get them to send out a replacement unit that will be either new or will have new casings, a new battery and will be exactly like a new unit. When you receive this unit there's a box to put your phone in and a UPS bag to return your old unit. Ring UPS to arrange collection. Apple will need to authorise the cost of a new phone off you for this service and they will credit you back when they receive your old unit.

More than likely its prob software issue but since you are jailbroken you can get battery info lite from cydia store for free, and it will tell you your cycle count and max capacity.

I would bet its some gps app or something running in background though.

i might have solved the problem.

The battery of my iPhone completely drained last night so i did a full charge.

And now i've noticed a better difference in the battery life.
