Body Shut Down

Just a quick question for the lads on here. I have been training fairly consistently for both GFW and an Olympic tri. I have been ramping up the training fairly evenly by about 5% to 10% per week but last week got a bit of a rush and my weekly total went up by about 20% or more. Did my LSR on Sunday morning as normal, then about lunchtime i felt like I was punched by Tyson. I was weak as a kitten, freezing cold and just felt rotten. I went to bed at around 7pm and didn't move till lunch time yesterday. Appetite returned and I felt right as rain again, pretty much 24hrs later to the hour.
Has anyone here had anything similar? It seems to me like the body just said "slow down and take a break".

How long should I wait before I go back to full tilt? I was going to take the week off.

You're right. Your body can just shut down and the symptoms you describe are very like those that are experienced when the body is overworked for a level of time. It will be hard now for your body to digest food efficiently for the next couple of weeks, so you will have to watch this. I am sure you are taking sufficient nutritional supplements and have checked your blood pH. I am also considering that your blood pressure dropped on Sunday, has that come up to pre falling apart levels? Be careful now, you can recover very well in a short period with the right nutrients in the right concentrations taking into consideration your genetic predispositions. I am willing to offer you some advice if you want to consider that. If not, I hope you are getting good advice from the supports you have. I wish you the very best of luck with your training and every success with competition. Don't worry recovery can happen quickly enough.

I'm just hoping this is a piss pull. Because if it's serious...oh dear!
