Skoda vs VW service

My dad needs to get the Octavia serviced (no jokes please) this week in Waterford. Phoned them but are booked out at the Skoda dealer.

Was wondering would it be much more expensive to get it serviced at the VW garage instead?

Call for a quote. I have found that VW garages charge higher labour rates but many have standard servicing charges anyway.

Or since there is no special equipement or knowalage required to service an Octavia, why not save even more and take it to a reputable independant garage?

If its out of Warranty bring it to a Local Independent or if you want a Dealer try Seat Also.
