Advice for relief

    Hey

I suffer from consitpation all the time no matter what I eat. I think I eat a good amout of fibre and drink plenty of water but even that doesn't seem to help. I don't want to go down the route of laxitives as they don't sort out the problem long term. I feel full and bloated. I probably go every 8 or 9 days or so and even that isn't emptying by bowl properly. Here is what I eat.

    Breakfast
    Branflakes/wheetabix
    snack fruit
lunch bown bread sandwich or pasta
dinner pototes or rice or pasta, veg, chicken or fish
I have a takeaway every Friday evening with my husband but would cook all other days.

I work full time at a desk and try to get out for a walk at least twice a week.

Any help for relief would be a great help

    Go see a doctor!!!

Seriously, no-one on an internet forum is going to be able to do anything other that make semi-educated guesses and make sympathetic noises.

8 or 9 days = see a doctor or sure... in the meantime tr increasing insoluble fibre - your diet looks higher in soluble fibre tbh.. also avoid bread / pasta unless wholemeal as it can clog the system even more

Thanks for the advice. I have been putting off seeing the doc as I feel embarrased by it but it needs sorting.

For crying out loud, go to the doctor internet strangers are not the people to be asking. It's routine for the doctor, and won't be unusual. Your health is your wealth. Thread closed.
