I am trying to seek an official mention from the US Gov regarding the above but to no avail. I am aware of the rule and want to go for 14 months but work for 12, but USIT say my work paper start date must match the flight date.

    It's ok, I found one. http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1267.html#12

But has anyone had this issue with USIT?

Not sure about how USIT deal with this, i'm going with the IIC and they promote this 14 month stay, doesn't say much about on USIT site, but if the visa's are issued from the gov then all the same rules should apply to all sponsor company's right?

Yeah, USIT don't deal with it though, if I go with them I have to fly out the same day the visa starts. Ah well.

I'm looking at the IIC as well though.

The thing thats putting me off about the IIC is they said if I can't find work in 90 days I have to return home, whereas USIT say you can stay as long as you prove you are looking for work and you have the sufficient funds. I know its highly unlikely I won't find a job in my field, but still.
