    Hey guys,

Im going travelling for a year in 2 weeks and my gym membership has just ended so I have 2 weeks to pass.

I have been hitting gym and doing exercise pretty much non-stop for passt 2 years (4 session, games of soccer, cardio etc)..to be fair i got bit sick of it in last few weeks :)

So ques is...anyone with ideas on what I should do to keep ticking over for next 2 weeks - Im finished work too:

    In my head I have

    Option 1 : Do nothing
Option 2: Just bodyweight and bit of cardio

Wouldnt mind trying something completely diff for last 2 weeks though!

    Any advise..shout!

What will you do for the year you are traveling? Do you intend to continue to perform some sort of exercise or take a year out?

Once you answered this question, then you can simply start two weeks earlier than planned.

It summer, a few 5k/10k runs. mixed in with sprints, hills and steps should do the job.

I started travelling in January after spending the previous three years gyming, playing rugby etc. For the first four months I was in Asia. I basically tried to get into a gym once a week and eat reasonably well. I was out pretty much every night though so it just doesn't work really. I lost about a stone in asia from not eating properly, no dairy and a lack of good cuts of meat.

However I am in Australia now and over the course of the last month I've managed to put the weight back on and some of my lifts are stronger than ever. I keep a log here at the mo. Muscle memory is a great thing and your lifts/fitness will come back pretty quickly.

If you are going to asia, you'll find gyms pretty much everywhere if you ask, and they are cheap. At the end of the day don't worry about it and enjoy the travels!!

Just explain the situation to the gym and ask if you can pay with cash for the time you have left here. I'm moving abroad shortly also, and that's what I did.

Plan for fitness away was to bring resistance bands then just cardio on beaches or wherever. Didnt even think about gyms in Asia....

Have a google for the book "Convict Conditioning" you can find it in PDF on the net. Either print it out (but extra luggage ) or if you are bring a laptop with you download it. Lots of useful ideas for keeping in shape while away from a gym :)

where do you live? there are a few gyms that might allow you to pay per session. Or else you could be a right snake and ask in another gym if you can have a couple of guest passes, although chances are you will only get one....

either that or just go running/sprinting outside, if you are looking for resistance training, buy a bag of sand in a woodies DIY or somewhere and there are a couple of exercise that can help keep you in shape that will be grand for a couple of weeks.
