Cycling Short Sizes?

    Am looking to get a pair of Lycra Shorts for MTB races and as its my first pair to buy i have a small qustion - is the norm for these shorts to be a Small if Waistis around the 31` mark, just want to make sure before i go and buy the wrong sixe :P

    On a side note anyone have any recommendations of a name to get?im thinking Madison Peloton 8 Panel Cycle Shorts or maby Endura CoolMax Shorts

    Update - i have been doing some reading and can anyone back this up that for endura shorts you need to go bit bigger in size!

    It completely depends on the brand, I am between M and XL depending on brand. Generally speaking UK brands will be biggest and Italian ones smallest. For your first pair best to try on or if buying online use a size chart and make sure there is an easy return possible. Bear in mind they are meant to be quite tight. Height is the most important consideration, not waist, if going for bibs.

    The DHB brand from Wiggle is a good place to start IMHO - good quality, value and their size charts tend to be pretty accurate!

    Ya i was thinking about useing CRC and can send it back then if it dose not fit!

    Just had a look at this kit, sounds good tbh id go with it as price is right only thing is that the size chart says im small for this! How are Wiggle on returning stuff if it dose not fit! dose anyone know?

    I bought size L (for a 36"+ waist) in the endura shorts. One pair I had to take in the shoulder straps as they were too long, the other pair are just nice. Both pretty tight on the thighs though...
